The Steelheads play in downtown Boise in the 5,000 seat Qwest Arena. The Qwest arena is a complete, full service venue and the environment is safe and very family friendly. The Idaho Stampede are part of the NBA Development League and are affiliated with the Portland Trailblazers and the Denver Nuggets. The Stampede are the Western Division champions for the 2005-2006 season and League champions for the 2007-2008 season. The team was founded in 1997.

The Idaho Stampede is serious basketball. In the 2006-2007 season thirty-five former Development League players were on the NBA opening day roster. The NBA development league consists of sixteen teams and functions as a true minor league farm system for the NBA.

The Idaho Stampede play in downtown Boise Idaho at the 5,000 seat Qwest arena. In addition to traditional stadium seating the venue also provides for substantial courtside seating, surrounding floor table seating as well as play areas and ball and hoop games for the kids.
